On Monday the 18th of August, our new families were the very first to step inside, and the following day, our students kicked off the school year in a transformed theater space. As the venue on campus where hundreds of students, parents, and faculty regularly gather together to listen, watch, and learn, our theater sits at the essential intersection of student learning and public presentation. After nearly 25 years without major updates, this revival is bringing our auditorium into the 21st century - future-proofing the heart of ASW for the next quarter-century.

What Was Completed in Phase 1

Over the summer, our teams delivered a complete space refresh focused on audience comfort, safety, acoustics, and modern tech integration:

• Audience Comfort & Interior Refreshes: Installed brand-new theater seating, replaced carpet and flooring, renovated the foyer ceiling and entrance fire doors, and completed a partial stage floor restoration.
• Complete Audio & Acoustic Overhaul: Replaced the old sound system - including new speakers, amplifiers, and sound boards - swapped outdated wall panels with acoustics, renovated custom ceiling tiles, and relocated the main audio console to the center of the room for optimal sound calibration.
• Multimedia & Architectural Lighting: Installed a brand-new, high-performance multimedia system tailored for dynamic assemblies and public presentations, complemented by warm spotlights and safety skirting lights.
• Clean Tech Infrastructure & Safety: Embedded all new cabling into conduits hidden entirely from view, prepared the dedicated lighting console layout, and installed fire-rated safety doors in key technical areas.

Looking Ahead: Phase 2 

While Phase 1 transformed the audience space, Phase 2 will raise our production capabilities- empowering our growing ranks of student designers, presenters, and technicians:

• Stage Renovation & Accessibility: Remaining stage flooring replacement, a new stage podium, fresh front/side/back curtains, and upgraded accessible stage entry.
• Next-Gen Production Tech: Complete overhauls of digital stage lighting boards, video systems, stage monitoring for dressing rooms, and main/stage audio systems, paired with new control room furniture.
• Climate & Infrastructure: Air Handling Unit (AHU) repairs and replacements for optimal audience comfort.
