Mr Jon Zurfluh - ASW Director (2016-2025)

Dear ASW Alumni,

As I prepare to complete my final year as Director of the American School of Warsaw, I reflect on our remarkable journey as a community. Whether you graduated recently or decades ago, your time at ASW helped shape the legacy of this extraordinary school, and your role in its future is just as important.

Over the past nine years, we have faced global challenges, expanded and modernized our facilities, strengthened our academic and service programs, and deepened our global mission. Through it all, ASW’s foundation has remained the same: our values, our relationships, and the unbreakable bond that connects Warriors across the world.

As we open new spaces and transition to new leadership, I want to invite you, our alumni, to renew your connection with ASW. This is your school. And we need you.

ASW’s Culture of Giving is about more than donations. It’s about connection, mentorship, shared stories, and shared responsibility. Whether you choose to speak to current students, support a project, attend an alumni gathering, or contribute to the ASWfor Foundation, every act of engagement helps build a stronger, more enduring community.

Our five core values continue to guide us, and we hope they resonate with you, too:

Make the whole world your classroom. You’ve taken ASW’s global mindset into your lives—now help us share your stories with future generations.

Step forward and make things happen. The time to reconnect is now. Don’t wait.

Work together. Because without us all, we’re nothing. Together, our alumni form a powerful network with the ability to support one another and to lift others.

Bounce back when things don’t go your way. You’ve shown resilience in your own lives. Our students learn from that example.

Put the same into life as you put into school. Many of you gave your all as students. We invite you to bring that same energy back to the ASW community.

As I pass the baton, I do so with a heart full of gratitude and pride. ASW is thriving, and the opportunity to be part of its continued growth is open to each of you. Let’s create a network of Warriors that supports, celebrates, and inspires—across borders, across generations, and for years to come.

With appreciation,

Jon P. Zurfluh
Director
American School of Warsaw
